How do I get hired by Sweetwater Pools?
Complete a Pre-Application, which is available on our website and complete a lifeguard training class. Your application will be received by the Human Resources Department, and they will conduct an interview with you. You must also attend an employee orientation.

How do I become a certified lifeguard?
To become a lifeguard you must complete Red Cross lifeguard training/certification.  This includes first aid, CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, and blood borne pathogens training.  If you are a currently certified guard who needs to recertify, you must complete a challenge or review course.

How old do I have to be to lifeguard?
In order to be a lifeguard you must be 15 years old. You can begin taking the certification courses at age 14, as long as you turn 15 during or before the last scheduled day of the course.

I got certified last year. Do I have to recertify this year?
Yes. Sweetwater Pools requires all of it's employees to recertify through Sweetwater Pools every year. This includes lifeguarding, CPR-FPR, first aid, AED and bloodborne pathogens training. In order to make this more affordable, we discount this training for our employees.

Can I work at my neighborhood pool?
Working at your neighborhood pool depends on what restrictions your community's home owner’s association has enforced.  Some HOA’s encourage their residents to be lifeguards while others do not. The Human Resources Department can tell you whether you can be a guard at your neighborhood pool.

How will I know my schedule?
You will be able to retrieve your schedule from Dream Scheduler (on-line).  A login and password will be issued upon being hired.

What if my schedule is wrong on Dream Scheduler?
Your schedule can be monitored 24 hours a day.  If you see an error, please call the office to get the schedule corrected. This will help avoid paycheck mistakes.

When do I get paid?
Lifeguards get paid twice a month.  For the pay period 1st through the 15th, pay day is the 25th of the month and for the pay period 16th through the 31st, pay day is the 10th.

How do I get paid?
Sweetwater Pools uses direct deposit into the bank account of your choosing to get your pay to you. It is an electronic fund transfer that is immediately available to you on payday. If you do not want to use direct deposit, you can elect to have a check issues instead. Paper checks are available for pick-up at the office on payday, or can be mailed to you.

What if my paycheck is wrong?
While Sweetwater Pools does everything possible to complete each payroll without errors, we know that some errors are unavoidable. If your paycheck is wrong, call the Human Resources Department at (281) 988-8480 and they will work with you to get things corrected.
